TextSpeak in the New York Subway System

TextSpeak TTS-EM-HD-3E OEM Modules Deployed in over 600 New York Subway Signs for Spoken Word Announcements

TextSpeak has been incorporated with the the New York Subways latest upgrades in over 600 digital passenger information signs.

The upgrade is part of a Daktronics $3.2 million order for Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) New York City Transit, provider of mass transit services in New York City. Daktronics has a highly visible presence in the system and with an order for 630 6mm rail platform displays to guide and inform visitors, this contract marks the largest mass transit digital display purchase in the company’s history.

TextSpeak TTS-HD3-E OEM Ethernet and Serial 25 Watt amplifier module will use visual signage data to offer on demand audio for the blind and general passenger announcements. The HD3-E on-board 25 watt amplifier is set to tailor clear high-definition audio during both quiet low-traffic activity and busy rush-hour traffic.
